Queens Workwear Meet up Wellington 2024

The Ultimate Girls’ Weekend in Construction!

We’ve just wrapped up our annual Women in Construction meetup - three unforgettable days in the capital, surrounded by an incredible group of wahine toa from across the motu.

This year's event, proudly supported by BCITO and NAWIC, was packed with fun, connection, and empowerment. One of the standout moments was a powerful presentation from Work Should Not Hurt (check them out on Instagram!), offering valuable insights into how women can work smarter to prevent injuries on the job.

A massive shoutout to our amazing committee and generous sponsors - this event wouldn’t have been possible without you. Your support helps us grow this vibrant community of women changing the face of construction in Aotearoa.

Already counting down to next year? We are too.

Our First Official Tradie Meet-Up Was Absolutely Siiiick!

We were buzzing to catch up with familiar faces - and meet heaps of new ones! The energy at these female tradie meet-ups is unreal. Getting so many like-minded wāhine together is pure magic.

It was also awesome to connect with some of the amazing men who are standing alongside women in the trades. A special shoutout to our guest speaker, Zane Munro from For All The Brothers, who shared powerful insights on mental health and the importance of looking out for your mates.

Huge thanks to Reece Plumbing & Kitchens for hosting us, Paslode for the BBQ and prizes, and to CH’I Drinks, Micos, Milwaukee, and Sika for their generous prize support.

We can’t wait for the next meet-up—bring it on!

We spent an unforgettable weekend in Christchurch surrounded by an incredible group of female tradies!

Hearing your stories, witnessing your passion, and seeing the amazing work you’re doing was nothing short of electrifying. Being part of this community is a powerful reminder that when women come together, we lift each other higher. We’re so proud to stand alongside you and can’t wait to reconnect with these trailblazers - and meet even more unstoppable women - next time.

Here’s to strength, resilience, and smashing those glass ceilings together.
